Thousands of children disappear each year for various reasons, and many of them are still missing.
In an especially dramatic case, a four-year-old British girl, Madeleine McCann, was adducted in May 2007 from her parent’s vacation apartment in Portugal. An international search for the child is underway.
Here in Switzerland, a 6-year-old girl, Ylenia Lenhard, was abducted in July ‘07. The kidnapper, who was later identified by DNA tests, killed the child and buried her in a woods in eastern Switzerland, then committed suicide. The girl’s body was found in mid-September.
As an act of solidarity with all missing children and their loved ones, Switzerland in Sound is calling attention to this heart-breaking problem by providing a few links that we hope you will visit.
